Katie's Coffee Notes
If you’ve tried a coffee soda or a sparkling Americano, this Espresso Cream Soda is the slightly more indulgent version.
It’s bold, fizzy, and just a little creamy—like a lighter, more refreshing iced vanilla latte with bubbles!
I love it for warm days when I want coffee, but not something too heavy. Add it to your summer espresso rotation, along with my iced lavender latte.
Ingredients

- Espresso Shots: Use 1-2 shots of freshly brewed espresso. Feel free to use whatever coffee beans you've got on hand or personally enjoy.
- Sparkling Soda Water: This can be plain sparkling mineral water, club soda, ginger beer, or seltzer.
- Flavored Simple Syrup: Adds a touch of sweetness. Vanilla syrup or brown sugar syrup are great options! Try something floral like lavender syrup, it's so unique and summery!
- Heavy Cream: A splash of cream adds a nice creaminess to the drink.
- Ice: I usually use regular ice, but coffee ice cubes are a great way to keep the flavor bold and avoid watering things down—especially if you like your drinks strong.
*See recipe card below for ingredient quantities.
Equipment
I use the Breville Barista Express to make my espresso at home—a Nespresso Machine works here as well.

Variations
- Cold brew instead of espresso. Use 3–4 oz of cold brew concentrate in place of espresso.
- Try different syrups. Vanilla is a classic, but peach syrup would be perfect for summer! Hazelnut or caramel syrup would also work well here.
- Top it with cold foam. For a little extra texture and creaminess, swap the splash of cream for vanilla cold foam.
- Make it a float. Skip the cream and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a fizzy affogato float situation! The perfect summer treat!
How to Make Espresso Cream Soda

- Step 1: Fill a tall glass with ice and flavored syrup. Fill with sparkling water, leaving room for remaining ingredients. Pour in freshly brewed espresso.

- Step 2: Add a splash of cream to reach desired creaminess. Stir and enjoy!
Katie's Top Recipe Tip!
Play around with the flavors! Almost any flavor coffee syrup would be delicious in this drink. Garnish with a sprig of mint or lavender!
